The Sanda Team Trials will select the 8 athletes (5 men & 3 women) to comprise the 2017 US National Wushu Sanda Team to compete at the 14th World Championships in Kazan, Russia from September 27 through October 3, 2017.

Traditional Taolu Team Trials


The Traditional Taolu Team Trials will qualify the athletes to comprise the 2017 US National Traditional Taolu Team at the 7th World Kungfu Championships in E’mei City, China from November 7 through 11.

Sanda Judging Course


Wednesday, July 19 through Monday, July 24 – $695


This course teaches the IWUF Sanda Rules and Regulation to qualify participants who successfully complete the course and accompanying examinations to become USAWKF National Sanda Judges for a duration of 4 years. For the USAWKF, the National Judging certification is required to be eligible for the International Judging certification which will next be held in 2018.

The fee includes all teaching and testing materials along with one half of a double occupancy hotel room from July 19-24 and all meals including the Awards Banquet on Sunday, July 23.

Taolu Coaches Seminar


Sunday, July 23 – $79 before June 1


This seminar will be taught by IWUF Technical Committee members to introduce the recommended best practices for preparing athletes for individual forms competition. The format will be a 90 minute  lecture followed by a one hour Q&A session.

This seminar will be held after the Team Trial has concluded but before the Awards Banquet. It will be conducted in English with Chinese translation provided as necessary.

Sunday, July 24 5pm Awards Ceremonies begin with banquet to immediately follow


The 2017 US National Wushu Team for both Sanda and Taolu events along with those who qualified for 2017 US National Traditional Wushu Team via the USAWKF Nationals will be announced on Sunday night at the inaugural USAWKF Awards Banquet. 

The results of the National Judges training courses will also be announced at this event. 

The banquet will feature West Texas barbecue and music. We offer this event as a way for our members to come together to acknowledge the achievements of all the competitors across all disciplines and enjoy some Texas hospitality as one wushu family. To this end, competitors & coaches of the 2017 USAWKF Nationals & Team Trials along with participants of the National Judges training courses are all invited as guests of the local organizing committee to attend. 

Observers, families and friends are also welcome. Tickets are $20 and there is an Observer Special package for $45 which includes tickets to the Opening Ceremony($10), observer passes for all 3 days of competition($30) and the Awards Banquet ticket($20) which offers a 25% savings over buying them individually
